DARLA aka BELLA aka SARABI – 14197 (ALT ID – A0980619)
Safe - 11-29-2017 Manhattan Rescue: Rebound Hounds Please honor your pledges:
Hello, my name is Darla. My animal id is #14197. I am a desexed female brown brindle dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 7 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 20-Nov-2017.
Darla is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex which is contagious to other dogs. Darla will likely require in home care with a course of antibiotics. There are no known behavior concerns for Darla at this time.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: Darlin’ Darla was brought to us by her finder. One might wonder what a proper middle-aged dame was doing alone in the street… Darla is Rubenesque at 91 pounds, and if it was not for her large smile and bright eyes, she might impress by her size. Darla would not hurt a fly. She is a good gal who likes life, people and food…a typical family dog. She might be shy at first in her kennel, but take her to the street or the yard and she comes to life. She wants to enjoy whatever there is to enjoy, and she lets you know that she is happy. No hidden agenda with Darla. She walks beautifully on the leash and does her business on the way. She shows a healthy interest in other dogs met. She comes right away when called, mostly when she sees a treat dangling from my hand. She can sit on command, attempts to come on my lap, and will even roll on her side and back for belly rubs. Kisses, of course, follow. Darla is very comfortable, and I feel totally relaxed around her. Yep, she is the type of dog I could really see living in my home…as a comfy, chunky, friendly and loving pet. It is what suits my lifestyle. Indeed, at the care center, we have a dog or a cat who could meet anyone’s desire. Darla is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center to start her life again with you.
My medical notes are…
Weight: 91.4 lbs
Details on my behavior are…
Behavior Condition: 1. Green
