08/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Danny was surrendered into the shelter as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. At the time of intake he was tolerant of all handling, though he panicked when restrained for his medical examination. During his behavior evaluation Danny was tense, distracted and anxious, panting loudly and with a wide open mouth throughout. He appeared uncomfortable with the assessor, actively avoiding eye contact and making limited physical contact. He did not solicit attention or relax at all throughout the evaluation, though he did allow the handling to be completed. Danny was distracted during the tag interaction, and did not engage with the toy. Due to the anxiety level, aversion to handling, and general lack of sociability noted during the behavior evaluation, we recommend an experienced, adult only home for Danny. Look: 3. Dog actively avoids eye contact with the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the item. Sensitivity: 3. Dog is not fearful and is struggling to get away. The dog is not focused and is in constant movement, unconnected to the Assessor. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, a bit distracted. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Toy 1: No interest. Playgroup: Danny greets the other dog displaying anxious behavior, whining and panting. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen.
08/02/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Danny was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around dogs is unknown. 8/2: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Danny greets the other dog appropriately but mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen. 8/5: Danny greets the other dog displaying anxious behavior, whining and panting. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen.
