10/25/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/25/16 13:53 Danai A1094676 is a young female black American Staffordshire perhaps Lab or Boxer, Bulldog mix that was found in the finder’s residence a little while ago in the Bronx. They aren’t able to keep her and stated she was friendly and allowed them to place a leash they borrowed from a neighbor on her harness. During intake Danai had a loose, wiggly body and allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared and taken pictures of. Danai didn’t seem to mind being lifted into the kennel as she didn’t want to enter on her own. She sat excitedly as I placed her food & water into a kennel and ate/drank quickly.
10/29/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Do you enjoy the great outdoors? How about sports?Does spending generous amounts of time with a gorgeous, friendly, intelligent lady sound like a great way to fill your day?Yes?Then Danai just jumped to the top of your must-meet list! She’s a sweet youngster barely out of puppyhood with energy for days and a heart big enough to share with everyone she meets. Her legs say ‘let’s go!’, her smile says ‘let’s play!’ and her eyes say ‘I love you…and you…and you too!’ In her enthusiasm Danai does pull strongly on leash but she never objects to wearing a harness and always makes sure to wait until we’re outside to do her business before dashing off on her next adventure. The world is a giant playground full of exciting discoveries like new toys and friends and squirrels that might be toys or friends (she hasn’t made up her mind yet) and she passes other dogs large and small with soft body language and a happy tail. For our photo shoot Danai comes, sits and stays on command, takes her reward treats gently and gives me her sunniest smile and when it’s time to return to her den she tries to greet every dog in every kennel along the way then hops back inside without complaint. A fun addition to an active family or the perfect partner for a social singleton, Danai is ready to make herself at home pretty much anywhere that love and laughter are in demand. She’s a masterpiece in the making and with consistent guidance and plenty of playtime our not-so-little tomboy will be picture perfect in no time. Come meet her today!
Another volunteer writes: Danai was the Greek Goddess of music and poetry, and she could not have a better representation in this dancing joy of a dog who hears music everywhere she goes. A treat? Dance dance dance with all of her paws. The offer of a toy? Dance dance dance dance!Even in the shelter, Danai wags her tail at everyone and everything, finding the bliss in every moment of being a dog alive in the world. She’s equally dear in playgroup with other dogs, and she impressed the behaviorists as well! We’re so grateful she loves to give kisses and snuggle because she’s so soft we can’t cuddle her close enough. This Goddess is a bit rough around the literal edges-her fur is worn in spots that suggest a slightly rough fall from Olympus, but oh, what a loving home might grant her!
