08/12/16 16:00 BASIC INFORMATION Daisy A1085187 is a female, American Staffordshire that is 3 years old. Daisy was surrender due to no time. Daisy has never suffered any health issues or injuries. Daisy has never been to the vet. The previous owner stated he thinks daisy is allergic to lamb. SOCIALIZATION Daisy has never interacted with children. She allows to be petted by stranger and jumps up to greet adults. She has never lived with cat but isn’t bothered by the stray cats in the neighborhood. She has never lived with other dog. However on walks she allows small dog and big dogs to approach her. She is fearful. BEHAVIOR Daisy has never bitten anyone or animal. She is fine having her food bowl touched while eating, removing toys from her mouth. She has been crate trained and is relaxed while inside. Daisy has gotten baths which she enjoys. Daisy doesn’t like cold water, the water has to be very warm for her to sit and not run away. Daisy has never been brushed or groomed. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Daisy is described as friendly, playful and affectionate. She enjoys being around a group of people. She sleeps on the floor in the home.She enjoys playing with stuff toys and balls. She known how to fetch and play tug. Daisy is fed wet and dry food twice a day. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Daisy was calm and relaxed upon intake. Daisy allowed all handling.

08/16/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Daisy previously lived with adults and hasn’t been around children. The owner stated Daisy is friendly towards strangers and adults. The owner mentioned Daisy never lived with cats but she isn’t bothered by the tray cats in the neighborhood. The owner describes Daisy as friendly, playful and affectionate. It was reported by the owner Daisy is house trained and crate trained and is reported to be relaxed inside the cage. At intake it was reported Daisy was calm and relaxed, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Daisy came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and affectionate towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Daisy joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Daisy was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Daisy appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play ends. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: Daisy met a social female. She greeted her with a soft body, and then wanders the pen.

Daisy’s previous owner reported that she has never lived with another dog but allows other dogs to approach her on the street but is fearful of them. When off leash at the Care Center, Daisy displays soft body language when interacting with male and female dogs. The Behavior Department recommends that Daisy be placed in a home with a dog that matches her calm energy level. 8/14: Daisy approaches the gate with a soft, loose body. She greets the helper dog briefly but mostly explores the yard. 8/16: Today Daisy met a social female. She greeted her with a soft body, and then wanders the pen. 8/20- 8/22: Daisy displays soft body language, and initially offers a bounce or two but then mostly wanders in the pen. She mostly keeps to herself and begins showing stress signals, look aways and yawning, when greeting high energy dogs.
