A volunteer writes: This fabulous little girl joined us when her family lost their home. She’s petite, beautifully groomed, shy, loving and confused. Who can blame her? Happy to come out to go potty… she’s lovely on the leash, let me put a coat on her and wagged her tail gently as we walked. We’re told she’s shy with men, friendly with women, relaxed, playful and tolerant with children, is good with large dogs and barks at small dogs outside. Miss Daisy also lived respectfully with a cat giving him “space”. We’re also told she’s housetrained, was crate trained and no longer needs it, but will get into garbage if it’s not put away. I loved this little shy girl who came into my lap for hugs and snuggles, gave me kisses and softly greeted other big dogs as they passed out pen. She’s gentle, calm and easy to be with and I could have snuggled with her all day. Come meet this totally delightful little girl; her quiet manner and loving heart will surely win yours.
BEHAVIOR :
Daisy walks with a low fearful body language on leash. She was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body, but trying to stay close. Daisy was shy during handling with a fearful body language. She had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. Daisy was not interested in toys.
Daisy was surrender to us. According to her previous owner Daisy is friendly/outgoing with most women and shy with most men. There were always small children in her home ages 0-10 and Daisy is relaxed, playful, and tolerant with them. She plays exuberantly with adults and children. She’s relaxed, playful, and tolerant and plays exuberantly with the other large dogs in her home-her son and another female dog. She barks at small dogs she sees outside but is relaxed and friendly with large ones. She lived with a cat and was respectful of him, giving him space. he doesn’t mind when someone takes her food/treat/toy”. The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter. Daisy is somewhat fearful and needs time to warm up to the handler.

PROFILE :
BASIC INFO
Daisy is an APBT / Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. She’s about 2 years and 10 months old. Her family got her from her previous owner 2 years ago. They had to surrender her and their 2 other dogs Nike and Daisy’s son Junior because they were evicted and are moving to a home that
doesn’t allow pets.
SOCIALIZATION
Daisy is friendly/outgoing with most women and shy with most men. Daisy has never bit anyone.
BEHAVIOR
Daisy doesn’t mind storms. She doesn’t mind when someone takes her food/treat/toy, moves her off furniture, holds/restrains her, wakes her up, or brushes her. She’s nervous but tolerant during baths. She’s friendly with some strangers who approach her home/family but barks at some occasionally, usually men.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW
Daisy’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, and medium energy. She follows them around. She likes chew toys and plays chase, fetch, and tug. She lived inside and slept on a dog bed with Nike. She ate dry Pedigree food. She’s housetrained, doesn’t have accidents, and potties anywhere outside. She gets into garbage if it’s accessible while she’s home alone. She was crate trained when she was a puppy but doesn’t need to be anymore (as long as garbage is locked,
in a different room, etc.). She goes for slow walks and pulls lightly on her leash. Off-leash, she wanders but comes when called.
INTAKE
Daisy was tense with wide eyes and a low tail during intake. Her rear limbs often shivered and she looked around with her head a little low. She approached and sniffed me. Her owner scanned her (-), collared her, positioned her for pictures, and lifted her into her kennel, which she tolerated, maintaining a low body. Daisy had a soft body in her kennel and her tail wagged when I approached. She allowed me to put her leash on and sat against me while I pet and talked to her. She had a soft body and fast, low wagging tail. She maintained a soft body while I picked her up and put her in the transport kennel.
