03/31/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/31/16 20:49 These 8 dogs were seized by police from an apt after their owner was evicted. They were left in the apt in crates. Police had given them dog food. They all were relaxed around each other. They would sniff each other and sometimes play with each other with loose, wiggly bodies. They were dirty on their undersides and rear ends, apparently soaked in urine. 04/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Daffodil was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, grabbing at the leash. He was overexcited during handling, jumping up, grabbing at the leash, and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. Daffodil did a lot of jumping up, body checking and played tug-of-war with the leash during tag interaction. He took the toy and rawhide with a soft body language Daffodil is a very active and jumpy dog. He shows a bit of concern during the assessment he became an over arousal, grabbing at the leash and was a bit difficult to position him for the assessment. The behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs his shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. His body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 3. Dog responds with his tail high, ears forward, mouth likely closed for at least half of the assessment item, body stiff and body checks the Assessor. Dog is often focused on other stimuli in the room. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place her body between you and the toy. Playgroup notes: Daffodil is sexually motivated and repeatedly attempts to mount- vocalizing when unable to. When being removed from the yard he takes the leash in his mouth and begins to shake it; he was refocused with treats and toy.
04/04/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Daffodil has mostly displayed sexualy motivated behaviors during off leash interaction. At one point, Daffodil began to vocalize during peristant attempt to mount. The behavior department recommends that any adopter should allow Daffodil time to acclimate and decompress in a new home before following up on his behavior around dogs. He arrived into our care with several other large dogs, male and female- but there are no records of their behavior in the home. When off leash with other dogs, Daffodil persistantly attempts to mount the female greeter. 4/5 update: Daffodil is sexually motivated and repeatedly attempts to mount- vocalizing when unable to. When being removed from the yard he takes the leash in his mouth and begins to shake it; he was refocused with treats and toy.
