08/02/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/02/16 10:08 Cypress was found by the NYPD tied outside to a pole with Annie (A1083761) Both dogs were very social and energectic with the police officers. Cypress was very loose body and social while in the admissions office. She is very treat motivated and sat on command when a treat was presented to her. When no treat was present, Cypress was very interested in exploring the office and attempted to jump on the counter for more treats. She allowed petting and jumped up to try to lick the counselor’s face
08/06/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I met Cypress as another volunteer had her out in a pen. I was told that she was a wonderful walker and most likely housetrained, civil to other dogs met and not prey driven. Somehow, Cypress reminded me of another dog I had met earlier in the day, Annie. She had the same coloring, lioness face and mostly a very similar smile… Later on, I found out that they came together, as strays and I kind of concluded that they were mother and daughter. Cypress is lively, friendly, super sociable, very active and quite obedient, sitting beautifully on command and even giving the paw(after a few tries). Her eyes are clear and bright. Her face is often split in a happy grin. She comes on the lap, kisses and does not know what to do with herself so glad she is to be in company..Cypress is really pretty, well dressed in a tiger brindle coat and her weight is quite fine. She has experienced motherhood once upon a time. Cypress is a socialite, liely and fun gal to spend time with. I hope that soon enough she will find her way to a loving home and caring master or family. She is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.
08/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cypress pulls a bit on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. Cypress was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Cypress was not interested in toys. Cypress needs a significant amount of exercise, mental stimulation. She did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. Her body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1. No interest. Playgroup notes: When off leash with other dogs, Cypess engages in soft play. She corrects mounting.
08/03/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Cypess engages in soft play but offers correction if mounted. She arrived at the care center as a stray with another female dog, but their in-home behaviors are unknown. the behavior department recommends a pre-adoptions intearction to ensure compatability with any resident dogs.
