06/18/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/18/16 18:38 Crystal is an American Pit Bull, Gray & white that is possibly 2 years old. Crystal upon intake was playful & friendly. Her body was loose and wiggly. She approach counselor and jumped up to give kisses. She allowed being collard, scanned and photographed. She was fearful going into her kennel but slowly walked in and sat for treats.

06/28/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Crystal has swept me off my feet! Despite her size, she has been very easy to handle and mild-mannered during all of our outings. She walks nicely on leash, seems housebroken, and eagerly “sit”s for treats. She was surrendered with a large male dog, has been a mom, and has seemed curious and friendly when we’ve encountered other dogs through a fence. When I toss her a toy she shows fleeting interest — bounding after it but returning empty-mouthed and opting to hop up on the bench with me instead, where she promptly lays across my lap like we’ve known each other forever! She is very cuddly, loves belly rubs and gives kisses. She is SUCH a wonderful, sweet, adorable chunky lady that she could be a legend…the baby hippo that walks on a leash! Maybe you could be the lucky one on the other end…she’d love to meet you at Brooklyn ACC!

06/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Crystal pulls hard on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. Crystal was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Crystal was easy to handle when chewing on toys Crystal was a bit excited but did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. Her body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you.

06/20/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Crystal was brought in as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown except that she did come in with a male dog. 6/20: When off leash with other dogs, Crystal is hesitant to greet but does exchange sniffs. She appears to be sensitive to the other dog’s proximity, her body tenses every time the helper dog approaches but softens once he moves away but she is able to explore her environment. 6/25: Crystal displays slightly stiff body language as she greets the other dog.
