CRIMSON – 9324
Hello, my name is Crimson. My animal id is #9324. I am a desexed male gray dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 6 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 09-Oct-2017.
crimson is being placed at risk due to CIRDC.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: Crimson and clover and lovely all over. That’s our sweet, silver peanut for you. At an incredibly youthful 6 years-old this angel-eyed, floppy-eared sweetheart with the snowy-white nose and vanilla-dipped toes will still your heart with just one look. For honestly, how could one resist a face such as that? One full of uncertainty, of wonder, of hope, and of hurt all in waves like the tide at dusk. But while Crimson’s wide and constant smile shines like the sun, his small frame could use some care. He is thin – the shadow of ribs peeking out from his patchy coat – and covered in raw-looking hot spots right down to the pads of his paws. But while he may be cautious and careful with where he plants his feet Crimson gives his heart without one care. Once he’s confident that you’re a friend, you kneeling to his level, eye to eye and soul to soul, Crimson opens like a flower and places his head underneath your hand. So you rub his head and consider that frame covered in spots where love should have been. And for every one spot you make a wish in his name, the first for a home all his own. Crimson walks well on leash, takes his treats nicely, is extremely affectionate and attention-seeking and allows all handling. He would do best with an experienced owner who can give him structure, love, and plenty of time to flourish. Crimson is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan ACC.

Potential challenges comments:: On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration: At the care center, Crimson has been observed to react to other dogs on leash, lunging towards them and hard barking. Crimson may need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach him to look at you rather than other dogs. We recommend a front clip harness or head halter to help manage this behavior.,On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration: At the care center, Crimson has been observed to react to other dogs on leash, lunging towards them and hard barking.
