11/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Unknown Unaltered, Owner Surrender Other notes: Upon intake Creed appeared nervous and had a tucked tail SAFER ASSESSMENT: 11/30/16 Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy: 1. Minimal interest, dog sniffs toy. Summary: Creed displayed no behavioral concerns on his assessment. Creed displays high energy and movement and appears to have the potential to become easily aroused, for this reason we believe he may benefit best from an adopter with a previous amount of dog experience. PLAYGROUP: Creed came in to the Care Center as a stray so his previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. When off leash with other dogs at the Care Center, Creed is able to calmly socialize with male dogs but becomes persistently sexually motivated with female dogs. He continually attempts to mount and does not respond to handler interruptions. The Behavior Department recommends that Creed be placed in a home with male dogs and that a proper dog-dog interaction be conducted to ensure compatibility. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 11/27/16 During his initial medical exam Creed appeared friendly and allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (Suitable for an adopter with a previous amount of dog experience) Potential challenges: _X_Basic manners/Poor impulse control (It is recommended that default behaviors such as “Leave it”, “Sit/Stay”, “Down” are reinforced to substitute frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training is recommended.)

11/28/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION

Creed came in to the Care Center as a stray so his previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. 11/28: Creed is very sexually motivated with a novel female dog. He continuously attempts to mount her despite handler interruptions. 11/30-12/1: In a group of calm male dogs, Creed displays soft body language when greeting them. He briefly exchanges sniffs with them before exploring the pen. When a female enters the pen, Creed becomes persistently sexually motivated.
