08/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Client brought Cream into the Care Center on 8/18/16 as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. The client had seen Cream around for the past few days, so she decided to bring him into the Care Center. Behavior during Intake: Cream was relaxed, allowed handling. During SAFER Cream was friendly and calm when he entered the assessment room he had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, he allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Cream was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Cream was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Cream appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, a bit distracted. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Playgroup:When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Cream displays soft body language as he greets the female dog. He immediately becomes sexually motivated, attempting to mount her. He displays bouncy body language as he persistently mounts her, ignoring handler interruptions.
