He plays gentle with the 8 and 13 year old but is jealous of the 4 year old. copito has never lived with another cat or a dog. Copito did bite the 4 year old child,(circumstances unknown) over a month ago. BEHAVIOR The only behavior issue that Copito is having is that it is acting in a fractious manner towards the 4 year old child. Owner stated that it would be best if you do not take the food bowl, water bowl or toy away, because he follows the item when you try to remove it and the owner did not know what Copito could be capable of. He does allow you to bathe him. If an unfamiliar approaches the owner or doorway, he barks. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Copito is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. Copito has been kept mostly indoors. Owner gives him any brand of dry food and table food. he is house trained and goes on dirt outside and on wee wee pads in the home. Owner stated he does have accidents every now and then. for exercise he is walked on the leash. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Copito was nervous during intake process.

04/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Copito came into our center as an owner surrender citing some recent conflicts with the 4 year old child that resides in the home. It is reported Copito lived with a 4 year old, 8 year old, and 13 year old, typically plays gently but last month bit the 4 year old (details were not provided). It is reported Copito is housetrained to go outside on dirt or indoors on wee wee pads. He is described as friendly, affectionate, playful. During intake and his initial medical exam, Copito was nervous but allowed all handling. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, eyes averted, started backing away towards end of item. Copito stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, mouth closed, body soft, ears neutral. He was a bit distracted during Tag game, focused on exit door, but did not have a response to any of the three passes. Copito did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. He showed no interest in Toy. When off leash with other dogs, Copito keeps to himself and roams the yard. The Behavior Team feels Copito would do best with an Experienced adopter that does not have young children. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted, lip lick, backing away towards end of item. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, focused on exit door. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Copito keeps to himself and roams the yard.
