04/09/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: A little tank, a meatball, a low rider…..I admit that I have a girl crush and her name is Cookie….and she’s as sweet as the confection after which she was named. Quiet in her kennel when I came for her she stood quietly to be leashed and stepped down gently on her short little legs. Likely housetrained she used the ‘facilities’ the moment we were out the door, has amazing leash manners and is gentle and calm as can be. Sitting for a treat which she spit out as gently as she took it when not to her liking, she makes soft eye contact while holding her sit….perhaps hoping a better treat will come her way! Cookie and I sat together on the ground, Cookie rolling in for some loving as she closes her eyes enjoying and leaning into a head massage. When Cookie and I came upstairs she met a group of people, gently going to each one to say her hellos and of course get in a little extra loving before hopping back into her kennel. Our little tank is hoping to begin the rest of her life with a loving person or family today. Will it be you?
A Volunteer Wrote: Cookie is too good to be true, as sweet as her name and so perfectly, wonderfully behaved….she waits in her kennel so patiently for a walk, even though she appears house trained, curled up so cozily I keep waiting for her to continue standing up until I realize…that is it. She’s mid-shin height, a little tiny bunny of a dog despite the size of her head. Somehow, she makes it work to her most adorable advantage and you never want a dog to look another way. We are bereft to see she is on the euth list, as this is entirely a case of bad luck. The worst luck. She is so fantastic she was spayed for an event–a sure adoption–and then she got sick and so couldn’t go. And then, because of that, she’s now destined to die. She is an incredible dog, a tiny dog with a giant, loving personality that would be the most wonderful addition to any home. There is absolutely no reason for this dog to be at risk–we hope you can change her luck from terrible to wonderful tonight!
