Cody’s owner passed away…and although quite a spry and healthy gentleman, no family member could accomodate an elderly dog, part of the household since tender puppyhood. Of course, a pet is a big responsibility and a burden for many people.. At least, Cody was brought to us and not left to fend for himself in the street. The night he arrived at the care center, I promised Cody that I would get to know him.. I was so surprised to see a dog that looked so much younger than his stated age, so well kept too, beautifully groomed, alert, active and absolutely gorgeous… He was quite lost, though….Twelve or fifteen years in a home, loved and cared for…Alone in a kennel now….That does not add up in Cody’s dog’s brain… He is glad to see a human face at his door and is leashed in no time. Ooops, we do not walk, we fly…Cody is quite energetic ! He climbs stairs like a youngster and meets like a well brought up pooch , other dogs. He does his business without marking and does not chase squirrels or pigeons . He poses nicely for pictures. I call him my “Little Wolf” . He is so perfectly made, so elegant, a real life painting…. His eyes are bright, intelligent and his smile, gentle. Initially a little handshy, Cody got used to my caresses and posed his head in my lap for more petting, his tail wagging non stop. I was totally conquered, my heart melted…Cody comes with excellent recommendations and needs now to find an owner or family attuned to seniors and happy to welcome them into their home. He was well brought up, well cared for and loved…Let’s keep it going and find Cody the life he so deserves.. Come and meet him at the Manhattan Care Center.
