SAFE 04/05/15 CLEMENTINE – A1028142 – MANHATTAN, NY
Safe - 4-5-2015 Manhattan
***SAFE*** A volunteer writes: All wiggles and wags, Clementine is a happy dog who is quick to make friends. An athletic strider and engaging explorer, there’s something about Clementine that has you thinking of all the adventures you could be sharing with her. Given her perky personality, I can see her scampering in the snow with glee or enjoying long walks on the beach; then again, she might be just content spending a quiet evening with you, snuggling close. Having passed her behavior assessment at the Care Center with a good score, Clementine should be a nice fit in almost any home. I also heard from a fellow volunteer that she did well in a doggie playgroup when another dog was not so nice to her. Quick to soak up affections, Clementine’s is a joy. Come meet her today–she’s ready to begin her new adventures with you!

A volunteer writes: Sweet and tangy…Clementine, Tangerine….our Clementine is both..She is such a fun to be with and a regal for the eyes. She looks so smart in her oreo coat Her sparkling eyes and long ears make her look so naughty. She is a wee too thin but so beautiful to look at. Clementine loves to play and run after a ball. Galloping through the yard is one of her favorite games. She seems to know her given name and gallops when she is hailed. She loves treats, of course. She has to make up for the measly meals she got before to come to the care center. She is so puppy like although she is a grown girl who has alrady cared for a litter. Clementine is not all play. She is a major snuggler who forgets all about the world around her when she is on somebody’s lap….Clementine is waiting for you…long walks in the park, jogging around the reservoir, frisbees and tennis ball. She has been waiting long enough. Her lucky star really needs to shine.
Another Volunteer Writes:
Clementine a friendly, talkative 1 year, 7 month old gal who wants nothing more than to hang out with her human friends. She love, love, loves going on walks to the park — there so much to see and smell! Clementine especially got a kick out of watching the kids playing basketball — everytime the ball was thrown, Clementine excitedly looked up in the air to watch it hit the basket. Perhaps we have a furry Knicks and/or Nets fan here! Clementine loves life, but more importantly she would love to be a furry companion in a safe and loving home. Please consider Miss Clementine.
02/20/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Clementine came to us as a stray on 2/17/15. Upon intake Clementine was described as being social, and maintaining soft body language throughout the initial intake. She allowed the assessor the complete all tactile items of the assessment without displaying any signs of aggression. She was very excited to interact with the assessor during the evaluation as well, and played softly with the assessor on the tag test. Clementine did not lift her head when the assess-a-hand was applied to her cheek on the food test. She only displayed minimal interest in the toy and showed no interest in the rawhide for this portion of the assessment. The behavior department believes that Clementine can be placed in an average home. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. Her body is soft, panting, and jumps up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. She indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Food: 3. Dog follows the dish, her tail between her legs, ears are forward. Her body is stiff. Dog does not lift her head from the bowl when hand is applied to her cheek. Toy: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest. Dog smells, licks and mouths, then walks away.
