MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
09/28/2016 Exam Type BEHAVIORPART2 – Medical Rating is 1 – NORMAL , Behavior Rating is NH ONLY, Weight 58.0 LBS.
RECOMMENDATIONS: _X_No children (under 13) (Due to the severity of the behavior noted, we recommend an adult only home for Cinnamon. Cinnamon does not seem to respond well to loud voices or challenging body language.) _X_Place with a New Hope partner (Due to all noted concerns displayed in a home environment, the behavior department recommends Cinnamon be placed with a New Hope placement partner who is able to provide an experienced adult only foster home. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Cinnamon to acclimate comfortably to her new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Cinnamon to new and unfamiliar situations. Consultation with an professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended for guidance to safely manage/modify any behavior Cinnamon presents with outside of the care centers.) Potential challenges: _X_Basic manners/Poor impulse control (It is recommended that default behaviors such as “Leave it”, “Sit/Stay”, “Down” are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach her to control her impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended.) _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Reactivity towards other humans was noted by previous owner; lunging, growling. Because this appears to present a challenge outside of the care centers, guidance from a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly advised to assess this behavior and modify/manage as needed.) _X_Resource guarding (Potential resource guarding was noted in the previous home as Cinnamon was observed to growl/snap when engaged with items and at times bite the hand attempting to remove them. For this reason we advise against ever removing items from Cinnamon’s possession without safely trading for an item or greater/equal value. Guidance from a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended to aid in safely managing/modifying this behavior in a new home environment.)
