I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/20/2016 from NY 10474, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

07/20/16 21:39 Basic Information/Behavior during intake Chippie is being surrendered by finder because she is moving back to Puerto i Rico and cannot keep. Finder stated Chippie has a coughing problem and vomits. Finder had Chippie for a couple of days and states she would approach other dogs outside in a playful manner. Finder does not have any pets at home. Finder stated Chippie is not bothered if her food is touched while eating, if you take a toy away, if you push her off furniture, if you pick her up, if you bathe her, or if you disturb her while sleeping. Finder never attempted to trim Chippie’s nails. Chippie was tolerant of all handling during intake. No signs of aggression during intake occurred.

Chippie walks calmly on leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Chippie was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. She was not interested in toys. Finder had Chippie for a couple of days and states she would approach other dogs outside in a playful manner. Finder does not have any pets at home. Finder stated Chippie is not bothered if her food is touched while eating, if you take a toy away”. Chippie did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, may have long lip or lip lick. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1: No interest. Playgroup notes: When off leash with other dogs, Chippie mostly keeps to himself.
