10/03/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/03/16 16:53 Chipmunk was found wandering loose outside. His finder brought him to police who brought him to ACC. They report that Chipmunk is nervous but tolerant. Chipmunk was tense with a low body and very tucked tail in his crate. He lowered and turned his head while I put his leash on. He walked out with a low body. He was stiff and stared at me from the side while I scanned him (-). He sat during pictures. Then, he lied down and watched out the window, shivering a little. Sometimes when people approached him, he lifted one paw. He slow-blinked at us. He was stiff and shivering but tolerant while I sat next to him, pet him, and collared him. He walked next to me when others approached.

10/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: N/A Neutered, Stray SAFER ASSESSMENT: 10/05/16 Summary: Chipmunk was difficult to remove from his kennel exposing teeth, growling and lunging at the leash. He did not show any social behavior. Once he was out of the kennel he was extremely fearful grabbing at the leash and attempting to bite at the handler. The behavior team decided to place him back in his kennel for safety concerns as well as considering his own stress level. PLAYGROUP: Summary MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 10/05/16 During his initial medical examination, Chipmunk readily allowed all handling without issue. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_Place with a New Hope partner (Due to the behavior displayed in shelter, the behavior department believes Chipmunk would likely benefit best from a New Hope rescue partner that can provide an experienced, stable foster home for further assessment of her behavior before permanent placement into an adoptive home. Force-free, reward based training is advised when introducing/exposing Chipmunk to new and unfamiliar situations.) Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (During his stay at our care centers, Chipmunk has given appropriate warning signals, likely to react if pushed. He has been observed to actively avoid many forms of interaction when uncomfortable.)
