02/05/17 12:08 Basic Information: China is a 12 year old female Pitbull Mix that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had China for 12 years but had to surrender due to personal problems. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers, China is friendly and plays gently with adults. She has been around children ages 2 months to 10 years old and was always relaxed and playful with the children. Owner did not have any other dogs in the home but did state that China has been around both male and female small dogs and was always respectful and relaxed around them. Owner previous had cats both male and female and stated that China was respectful around the animals. She has never bit another animal or person while in the care of the owner. Behavior: China is not bothered by fireworks/thunderstorms, having her food, teats or toys taken away, being pushed off furniture, being held/restrained, being disturbed while sleeping, being given a bath, having her coat brushed, having her nails trimmed or if an unfamiliar person would approach owners home or owner. For a New Family to Know: China is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow and independent. She has a medium activity level in the home and liked to play with balls, squeaky toys, chew toys, and bones. China was fed both wet and dry food brand name Pedigree. China was kept indoors only & is mostly house trained. She had accidents 1-2x a week where she would urinate in the home. When left alone in the home, China was always well behaved. She knows the cues sit, come and stay. For exercise, owner took China on slow walks on the leash. When on leash, China does not pull. Owner was even able to take China on off leash walks and stated she would stay near the owner the whole time. Behavior during intake: China was relaxed during intake and allowed all handling.
