06/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A1056850 China came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported China was lunging, growling and showing teeth, no handling was conducted due to her behavior. During SAFER China came into the assessment room anxious and panting, she was a bit social towards the assessor. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as China lunged and growled with her hackles up at the assessor when attempting to do the Look item. She displayed no interest in the toy resource item during this portion of the assessment. When on leash for a dog interaction with another dog on leash China approaches the helper dog with tense body posture and her hackles raised. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Toy: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 3. Dog approaches the helper dog with her tail high, tense body, head tall, ears erect and hackles raised.
