08/20/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/20/17 18:12 Basic information Chica is a 10 year old, white and brown large breed dog. Her previous owner got her as a gift from a neighbor and Chica lived with them for 8 years. She was brought to the ACC because the owner had a medical condtion that didnt allow her to keep the dog without assistance. Socialization Chica Is easily excited and jumps up to greet strangers. She pulls to people who walk by. She does well with smaller dogs but doesnt get along with larger dogs. Behavior Chica is a bit harder to control on a leash she tends to pull hard and toss her weight around. She barks a bit when she is scared or heard loud noises. Chica doesnt like baths or getting her nails trimmed trying to run away or jump out of the tub. She isnt possesive of her food or toys. she gets fidgetly when picked up. For a new family Chica’s previous owner described her as playful, smart and sweet she is very high enegry and will follow you around the house. She enjoys playing with stuffed toys and balls and will tire herself out with her toys. She does like to pull a lot when being walked and like to run when outside. She mostly stays indoors and is very house-trained. Behavior durring intake Chica hasd a very relaxed body and when approached she jumped up and gave kisses she responded to her name to who ever called and entered the run without any issue.
08/23/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Meet our resident sausage, Chica!! This little girl isn’t going to let anyone pass her by without a meet and greet, and a walk! An incredibly spry ‘senior’, Chica has found the fountain of youth. Ready for a walk whenever you are, she motors along with lovely leash manners, tail wagging, checking up often as we go, and easily responsive on leash. In the park, we chill, Chica posing for some pictures, panting with the awful humidity and taking a break to lap up some water. Chica is with us as her person can no longer take care of her, and comes with a great resume of a fun, friendly pup with loads of personality. Energetic, playful, and smart, she enjoys playing with stuffed toys, likes to run off leash, jumps up to say ‘hi’ to people, is ‘very housetrained’, gets along well with small dogs but not big dogs, doesn’t guard her things, and will bark if she’s scared. Chica did a little dance for me if I wasn’t fast enough with a treat, and takes them like a little lady. She’s cuteness personified as she hops up on the bench to join me for some cuddles, her tail wagging a mile a minute and grinning from ear to ear. If we were in school, Chica would be voted ‘Miss Personality” as she’s fun, friendly, sweetly affectionate and an all around gem. She’s not showing her age one bit, and I can’t imagine a more fun pup with whom to spend my forever. Come meet her and see for yourself.
