Location: Brooklyn,  Intake Date: 12/20/17,  Intake Type: Stray

Medical Behavior:  Blue,  Sex: Spayed,  Age: 7 years,  Weight: 12.5 lbs,  Original Location: 11434

DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age:7 yr; Microchip noted on Intake yes; History : stray; Subjective:stray; Observed Behavior – docile; Objective timid, trembling allows all ; BCS 6/9; EENT: Eyes corneal opacity, mature cataracts and anterior lens luxation OU , ears clean, no nasal or ocular; discharge noted; Oral Exam: cealn adult dentition; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: female hyperplastic teats, linear tattoo; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: not performed; Assessment; lens luxation and secondary glaucoma needs latanoprost and ophthalmologic consult; Prognosis: poor for return of vision,esp in left eye; Plan: tonopen left 61,62, 44; right 22, 20; SURGERY: spayed

Basic Information:

Chica is a small white and brown mixed breed. She came to the center as a stray dog.

Behavior Notes:

Chica was very sweet, allowed to be collared, leashed, picked up, scanned, and photographed.

Date of assessment:  22-Dec-2017
Look:  2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
Sensitivity:  1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:  1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Paw squeeze 1:  1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Paw squeeze 2:  1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Toy:  1. No interest.

Summary:  Chica came into the room calm and quiet, she was friendly and social towards the handlers.
Summary (1):

Chica was surrender as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown.
12/21-23: When off leash at the Care Center, Chica greets a group of small male and female dog with a soft body. She explores the area, mostly keeping to herself.

Summary:  Very sweet and allowed all handling.
Date of initial:  21-Dec-2017
Summary:  Docile and allowed all handling.
ENERGY LEVEL:  Chica displays a medium activity level in the care center.

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:  AVERAGE (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
