05/25/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes “Cheryl is a high energy lady who would benefit from regular walks. Extremely enthusiastic to be outside, she pulled quite a bit. She does, however, sit whenever asked and is very receptive to affection. Some regular TLC would probably be therapeutic as well. She tried to heel at some points during the walk and did go back in her kennel without complaint. She shows promise!”
05/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cheryl pulls a bit on the leash. She was not sociable, and was more interested in the surroundings than the handler during the assessment. Cheryl was overexcited during handling, jumping up, and mouthy (light) and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Cheryl shows minimal interest during the toy item. Cheryl was surrender to us. According to her previous owner Cheryl is friendly, affectionate, excitable, playful and loves to be held. 05/24/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Cheryl has mostly kept to herself during off leash interaction, on one occasion displaying tense behavior toward another female dog. Due to having limited time in playgroup, the behavior department recommends allowing Cheryl time to warm up and acclimate to a new home before following up on behavior around dogs. Previous owner cites “She loves to play with dogs”. However, this has not ben observed while in the care center. When off leash with other dogs, Cheryl offers polite greeting then keeps to herself. 5/24 update: Cheryl roams the pen. She displays assertive, tense behavior when approached by a particular female dog. 5/25 update: Cheryl ignores and keeps to herself.

MARCH 2013:
A volunteer writes:
“I AM GOING OUT!! WOOOO HOOOO!” This little girl is all capital letters! She is an adorable compact youngster in a perfectly groomed tan coat with gorgeous markings on her face. She is all about friendship and tail wags, and fun. She may be housetrained ‘going’ as soon as we were out the door. Her tail wags non stop as she made friends with a big German Shepherd we met in the park – she seems to love other dogs and was hoping for a play date. Scampering on the leash, but not pulling, Cheryl does a little ‘bunny hop’ of fun and energy as we walk. When it came time for photos she put on her serious face and posed beautifully and quietly. What a good girl she is!! Cheryl is fun, funny, affectionate and energetic. She would love a family who has lots of time to play with her and take her for long walks. Her compact size and winning, friendly personality will make her a welcome addition to your home. She’s hoping you ask to meet her today.
