Hello, my name is Cheech. My animal id is #11773. I am a desexed male brown dog at the Staten Island Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 13 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 04-Nov-2017.

Basic Information:: Cheech was found wandering in the street.
How is this dog around strangers?: Cheech was easy to handle and allowed to be scanned for microchip.
Medical Notes: Cheech appears to be a senior dog and has a limp and cloudy eyes. Cheech appears to be of average weight.

Look:: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, ears are back, tail is down, relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Flank squeeze 1:: 1. Dog does not respond at all.
Flank squeeze 2:: 1. Dog does not respond at all.
Toy:: 1. No interest.
Summary:: Due to having some balance issues, Paw Squeeze was skipped and Flank was substituted. Cheech moved slowly and tentatively but this may be due to age and underlying medical challenges.
