07/13/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Stop playing Pokemon Go…the only Charazard you need is right here, and what a SWEETHEART she is!! She is a little scrawny and scabby, but so wiggly and petite that at first I thought she was a puppy. She seems to love every person she meets, and we all love her right back! She might pull a little at first (so excited to go outside!), but quickly syncs with me, and is really easy to handle. Her skin is a little uncomfortable so she’s probably sensitive in some spots, but she likes to be petted, appreciates help alleviating out-of-reach itches, and will hang out on my lap (with her paws literally crossed — adorable!). She seems housebroken, likes to play with toys and loves treats. She already knows “sit” and “down” and will army crawl to me when I praise her for the latter. She seems submissive and her tail is always wagging — a doll in every way! Come catch her at Brooklyn ACC.
07/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Charazard came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Lizzie was calm, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Charazard came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, she was friendly and social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Charazard was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Charazard was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Charazard appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away.
