10/12/16 20:36 Champ is an eight month old female gray and white American Pitbull terrier. She was given to owner by a friend and was with client for about a week. She was surrendered into ACC due to destructive behaviors she displayed in the home. Champ lived with one adult and two children ages six and ten. Owner stated Champ will growl and bark at strangers. She is described as relaxed around the children and will allow petting for several minutes but client stated she will then growl and snap if the children continue to engage her. She was introduced to clients large breed male dog and client stated she tensed and back away from the other dog, around cats she will hard bark and lunge. Champ is fed Taste of the Wild dry food and is fed twice a day. She is walked three to four times a day and is used to leashed walks. Owner stated Champ is protective and will growl when owner is approached while on walks. She was kept in the garage of the home and will bark when anyone approaches. Champ was tense and growled when approached for scanning. She snapped when scanned. Champ lunged at cousnelor when attempted to collar. Champ was collared and photographed with the assistance of the owner.

Behavior toward children: Champ is described as relaxed around the children and will allow petting, but after a few moments Champ will growl and snap at the children. Behavior toward dogs: Champ became tense and backed away when introduced to the owners large dog. Behavior toward cats: Champ would hard bark, and lunge toward the cats, but no direct contact. According to Champ’s previous owner, Champ was introduced to client’s large breed male dog and client stated she tensed and back away from the other dog. 10/15: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Champ barks at the novel male dog through the gate but displays loose and wiggly body language. She initially attempts to mount the male dog but immediately listens to handler interruptions and solicits play. She engages in gentle play with the male dog. 10/16: Champ briefly engages in running chase play with another female dog but returns to the gate and whines to be let out of the pen.
