07/21/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
7/21/16 19:17 Basic information: Chacorlta a roughly 3 yr. old AM Pit Bull mix was brought in as owner surrender. The Owner got her from a pet store as a gift; he has owned Chacorlta for over 3 yrs. The owner surrendered Chacorlta because the owner has moved to a place that does not allow pets. Chacorlta has no health problems and has never been taken to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Chacorlta is friendly playful. Chacorlta has not lived with children but he is relaxed and playful around children and adults he does not know. Chacorlta has never been around other dogs and cats so the owner has no idea how Chacorlta would behave around them. Chacorlta has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Chacorlta is not bothered when some moves him food or treats while he is eating, when someone takes his toys away or when someone disturbs him while sleeping. Chacorlta likes to be brushed and given bathes but has never had his nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or his home he approaches them in a friendly manor. The owner does not know how Chacorlta is around loud noises such as storms or fireworks. For a new family to know: The owner describes Nemo as friendly, affectionate and playful with a medium activity level. His favorite activity is to play fetch with his owner. In the home Chacorlta tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Chacorlta sleeps in the floor of the bedroom on a blanket. Chacorlta was fed Pedigree dry and wet dog food three times a day. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the home, when outside he goes to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. Chacorlta knows the commands “sit “and “Come” (in Spanish). For exercise Chacorlta is used to brisk walks on the leash and twice a day and does not pull on the leash. Behavior during intake: Chacorlta was relaxed with lose body. He allowed us to, scan (-), collared, pictured and placed in dog kennel.
07/26/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Chacorlta or Chacorta ? If I go with the second name (see Spanish translation), I would expect dealing with an impulsive little black bull with cropped ears. Instead, I am facing a cool dude, quite friendly and sociable after some initial hesitation and shyness. Chacorlta is quiet in his kennel aside from an occasional little whining sound. Chacorlta is leashed easily, fitted with a scarf and strolls very nicely in the street without pulling or marking his territory. He is fine meeting other dogs, even the little ones, and does not chase the pigeons. Free in a pen, he comes when I call him and jumps, forelegs spread outward like an open book for treats that he is very fond of. It is very cute to watch. Chacorlta loves to eat. He can sit on command and will run after a ball he can return in my hand. As roast beef treats created a bond between us, Chacorlta is now my friend and comes on the bench for caresses. He is a very nice character relinquished into our care because of the owner moving to a place not allowing pets. Chacorlta comes with wonderful recommendations, being a playful, low key, sociable, affectionate and a well-balanced companion. Come and see for yourself. Chacorlta is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care center. His preferred language is Spanish, but being young and willing, he can pretty much learn any new idioms.
