A volunteer writes:

Most of dog cartoons depict Boxers and Bulldogs as rough and tough…This is really not fair…Our Ceecee is really a sweetheart who comes with excellent recommendations  from his former family  who relinquished him as they had no time for a pet anymore. Ceecee is said to be comfortable around new people and within new environments.. He would play gently with children and enthusiastically with adults  . He is said to be   quite docile, of a  sweet nature and house trained. He would love food(he would prefer you not to touch his food bowl) and is known to get his mouth on anything related if  left alone in the kitchen . He alarmed his owners  when someone  tried to enter the property but once ok by his masters, everyone was most welcome…It really looks that Ceecee served awsomely his family…Ceecee is really a cross between an English Bulldog and a Boxer.  The body, the face…..One can not miss it ! He looks quie healthy and so perfectly groomed. Ceecee has been nothing but nice here at the care center. An easy going gentleman, a great walker, a perfect sitter and so polite taking treats from my hand.  He meets properly other dogs in the street and is well mannered in playgroups with his peers.  He is not prey driven for the birds or the squirrels in the park.  Ceecee already made lots of fans among staff and volunteers and we all hope that soon enough, he will be in a home and  adored by  his new family. Come and meet Ceecee  at the Manhattan Care Center.

PROFILE:

Ceecee is friendly around new people and in novel environments. He is calm and relaxed around children, he plays with children gently and adults with a lot of energy but does not escalate. He has had minimal contact with other dogs and no caontact with other cats.

Ceecee sometimes will escape yard and jump over fence, supervision needed when in the yard. he is nervous around loud noises and gets timid. He will growl if you touch his food, treats or bones. He is friendly when you take his toys. He is not disturbed by being restrained, disturbed while sleeping, Being bathed, brushed or having his nails trimmed. He barks when someone approaches the house or the yard. He is friendly with those that approach his owner.

Ceecee has a medium level of activity and is fairly docile. He enjoys chewwy toys and bones, playing tug and guarding and alerting his owner. He is kept indoors and is mostly house trained but has accidents every couple of months. He is well behaved indoors and does not destroy much but does like to go through the garbage and eat soap. He should be kept out of bathrooms and kitchens for this reason. He grew up being crate trained and still sleeps in the crate. He will jump on furniture and go through garbage or rip up tissue if not crated. He knows the commands sit, come and stay. he pulls very hard on the leash but stays close by if walked off leash. He is fed Nutro/lamb dry food, three cups twice daily and prefers greenies dog treats.

Ceecee is sweet natured and inquisitive and allows most handling but gets unnerved when you put your hand above his head.

Playgroup:

10/23: Ceecee’s history around dogs is unknown per the owner.  When introduced off leash to other dogs in the care center, Ceecee greets politely, and spends time wandering the yard alone.
