A volunteer writes: Ceaser is SO handsome, charming and sweet that he leaves everyone that crosses his path starstruck! Based on his ever-wigging back end and lovey-dovey eyes, it’s easy to see he is equally smitten with his admirers, too! He is a stocky chocolate loaf cake, and I didn’t think he could possibly get any cuter, but accessorize him with a toy and Ceaser does in fact manage to get cuter! He carries them around the block, keeps them in tow as he cocks his head at curious noises, and even plays with them in his cage (an expert at making lemonade out of lemons!). We’re told he has lived harmoniously with small children (he liked to play chase with them), has never lived or interacted much with other animals (but isn’t bothered when passing them on walks), enjoys baths, and might tend to chew on things when left alone (but does fine in a crate). He is super playful and has a lot of love to give…come to Brooklyn ACC and make him your sidekick!
PROFILE :
BASIC INFORMATION: Ceaser is a large, brown dog that is 1 years old. The owner has had Ceaser since a puppy. The owner is surrendering Ceaser due to landlord conflict. Ceaser has no known illness.
SOCIALIZATION: Ceaser has lived with small children ages 9years old and 10 years old. Around the children he was affectionate and always solicit attention. He displays the same behavior around the 2 adults in the home. When strangers come over Ceaser wags his tail and approaches to sniff. He allows to be petted by strangers. He has never lived with dog or cats. On long walks around the neighborhood he is not bothered by the neighborhood dogs or stray cats in the area.
BEHAVIOR: Ceaser has never had a bite history. He is friendly towards strangers and children. He is house trained and gets 3 times a day walks. He has never had his nails trimmed. However he enjoys being bathed and brushed his coat. Ceaser is not bothered when touching his food bowl while eating or removing toys from his mouth. He does not get on furniture and is relaxed when restrained. When left alone in the home he is crated for 8 hours the most. When he is left outside his crate he tends to chew on things.
FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW: Ceaser is described as friendly, loving and playful. He enjoy being around the owner and follow the owner around the house. He enjoys spending time chewing on bones, playing chase with the children or fetching for the ball. His favorite dog food is Blue Buffole dry. For treats the owner prepares a bowl of cooked chicken and white rice. Ceaser knows the commands sit and in which means go to bed.
BEHAVIOR DURING ITNAKE: Ceaser was friendly and excitable. He allowed being collard, scanned and photographed.

During the initial examination Ceaser was very friendly, loose, and wiggly. Attempted to mount during PE.
ENERGY LEVEL:
Ceaser displays high energy in the care center. We recommend daily mental and physical stimulation to direct his energy and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the (behaviors outlined below).
_X_Single-pet home/Recommend no dog parks: Due to the concerning behaviors that Ceasar has shown during playgroup (see GROUPBEHAVIOR SUMMARY), we feel that Ceaser should not visit dog parks. The Behavior Department recommends that he be socialized in a more controlled setting until his behavior towards other dogs can be further addressed. Reward-based, force-free training can be utilized to help Ceaser associate dogs with things enjoys like toys or treats
Potential challenges:
_X_Destructive behavior: Ceaser is reported to chew on items when left alone outside of his crate for long periods, no specification on what items, so we advise future adopters to make sure to provide mentally and physically stimulating, appropriate chew toys to keep Ceaser occupied when left alone.
