KENDRICK – 21226
**NOT AT SHELTER – TEMPORARILY IN ACC FOSTER** FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: [email protected]** A volunteer writes: Kendrick is a quirky, funny boy unlike any I’ve met before. His favorite activities include: jumping up to try to steal treats out of your hand (because why sit for them when you’ve got legs this long?!); jumping over puddles (anything to avoid getting his feed wet); and chasing after the ball for about one millisecond before deciding it doesn’t look that fun after all. Kendrick loves to choose his own direction on walks, stopping often on a whim to change direction, although he’s getting better at walking on the leash. A nervous Nellie at first, Kendrick prefers not to be touched without warning (he wants to get to know you first!). He seems to be housetrained, is very food-motivated (making him a great candidate for teaching tricks with treats!), and has a greyed snout that makes me think he’s got a whole lot of wisdom to share. Come and meet Kendrick at the Brooklyn ACC today!
JOHNNY CASH – 17537
**NOT AT SHELTER – TEMPORARILY IN ACC FOSTER** FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: [email protected]** ***A private donor has graciously offered $500 to the New Hope Partner that pulls Johnny Cash*** A volunteer writes: We have our very own ‘Man in Black’ at the Manhattan Care Center. While he’s not much for singing, this handsome hunk speaks volumes with his soulful eyes and affectionate ways. Johnny’s a true people dog and (quite literally) not one to take kennel life lying down, so you’ll usually find him right up front and ready to go. I’ve even caught him smooshed against the door, luxuriating in a side massage from a passing admirer! Easily leashed and ready to follow wherever it is you’re heading, Johnny walks the line like a gentleman, taking his time sniffing all around and greeting other pups of every size with friendly good manners, even the not-so-friendly little ones! He enjoys treats and mouths them gently from my hand, plays nicely with toys and excels at exploring and snuggling–talents that he clearly mastered long ago. Johnny’s Care Center fan club is growing by the day, and he rocked his behavior assessment, too, but what this wandering soul truly longs for is a family to love and a place to call his own. Open your heart today, Johnny Cash is ready to come home.
BUDDAH aka OTTO – 17358 (ALT ID – A1117961)
**NOT AT SHELTER – TEMPORARILY IN ACC FOSTER** FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: [email protected] A volunteer writes: Buddha is a very beautiful dog…all white. His eyes’ color blends blue lagoon and tender green. He is so well groomed and the perfect weight. Buddha always welcomes me at his door and is leashed easily. He is quite a good walker, house trained, most likely, and polite to the peers we near. He ignored me at our first encounter, sniffing around the yard but then, became closer even at the point to sit upon command, eat treats gently from my hand and giving me his paw upon request. He did not care for the ball. The cold does seem to not promote playful behaviors in most short-haired dogs. Buddha lived with his family of one young child and a female dog, and they all got along fine. He needed time to warm up to strangers, and eventually did. Likes toddlers, some dogs often prefer not to share their stuff. As any good human parent, the pet parent will have to teach his/her dog that sharing can eventually lead to friendship or at least, a peaceful coexistence. Gorgeous Buddha will need experienced while loving hands to bring the best out of him and make him a most wonderful forever best friend.

FINN – 14215
*NOT AT SHELTER – IN ACC FOSTER**FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: [email protected] A volunteer writes: Have you seen the one about the best wiggle butt in town? No? Then you haven’t seen Finn!! With enough wiggle and tail wag power to charge your cell phone, this little guy loves to make friends, especially one with a leash in hand. Likely housetrained, and with business taken care of immediately, Finn shows off fabulous leash manners as we head to the park. Tail wagging as we walk, he does a little bounce every once in a while, simply at the joy of being out with a new friend. Off leash, we play tug, Finn gently enjoys some treats, and does the cutest little hops, all four feet off the ground. He’s as affectionate as he is playful, leaning in for a good ear scratch, giving gentle kisses, always with a wagging tail. The sweetest boy ever, he’s guaranteed to keep you in smiles and love 24/7.
Another volunteer writes: Sugar and spice and all things nice, that’s what Finn is made of! Everybody loves Finn because it’s impossible not to, he’s the gentlest, most affectionate, best-behaved sweetheart ever, and staff and volunteers alike are singing his praises to the skies. He’s lived in happy harmony with kids aged from 5-19 as well as another dog, and came with rave reviews from former family thanks to his soft, friendly approach toward everyone he meets. Naturally, Finn earned ‘straight A’s’ on his behavior evaluation, and he’s been a superstar in playgroup, too, polite and tolerant when meeting new doggie friends and bouncy and playful once the games begin. If you’ve been searching for the perfect family dog, then look no further. No matter the age, size or species, sweet Finn’s ready to snuggle, kiss and wiggle his way into the heart of your family today!
