My name is CASSIE. My Animal ID # is A1070936.

05/05/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Cuddly Cassie was brought to the shelter by the NYPD when she was found wandering around alone. She was super affectionate with the officers earning her the nickname of ‘casanova,’ but when the shelter realized she was a female it became Cassie, which suits her well. Cassie has the most amazing blue eyes and white and gray coat to complement her amazing personality. If you are interested in giving Cassie her forever home please come to Staten Island ACC and meet her.

04/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cassie came into our center after she was found tied to a pole. She was friendly and allowed all handling upon intake. Cassie pulled a bit on leash for her relief walk. She displayed high energy and movement upon entering the SAFER assessment room, jumping up, exploring the area quickly. She pulled out of assessor’s hands on all three Look attempts. Cassie leaned into assessor during Sensitivity item, tail wagging, open mouth. She was distracted and unresponsive during Tag game, stopped following on leash mid game, but approached at end with coaxing. Cassie did not pull her paw back on both Squeeze attempts. She showed interest in Toy briefly, but quickly became distracted. When off leash with other dogs, Cassie was a bit stiff when greeted by a social male but quickly loosened up and explored the yard. The Behavior Team feels Cassie would do well with an Average adopter. She will benefit from daily mental and physical stimulation in the forms of daily walks, runs, exercise, play as well as durable Toys such as Kongs and Nylabones to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth, tail wag. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, stopped following on leash mid-game, approaches the Assessor at the end of the game with coaxing. Squeeze 1 / 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed Toy 1. Minimal interest. Brief interest, quickly loses focus.
