10/05/16 12:44 Upon intake dog was very nervous. He was trembling and hiding under the chair in the office. He allowed counselor to scan him but he pulled away and growled low when counselor tried to collar him. The owner was able to put the collar on. Client stated cash has lived in the home with 2 adults and 3 small children under te age of 7. There was also anithe dog in the house with Cash that he was very attached to. He is very energetic and like to run and jump. He likes to jog when he goes on wlaks with his owner. Cash has never eaten dog food before. He eats raw meat and fresh vegetables. If Cash is eating and you touch him or try to move his food he will stop eating and wait until you walk away before he starts to eat again. He is house broken and does not have any accidents in the home. He goes out to use the bathroom twice a day Cash has been crate trained. He goes in his crate during the day while the owner is at work. When he is being walked he walks easily on the leash and has never been reactive when he sees cats. He knows commands sit, no, stop, inside, outside, eat and down. Cash enjoys playing feth with tenis balls. He has never bityten or scratched anyone

Behavior toward dogs: “Attached to” the other dog in the home Behavior toward cats: Unknown FG/RG: None reported Bite history: None reported Housetrained: Yes and also crate trained. Energy level/descriptors: Other notes: SAFER ASSESSMENT: 10/7/16 Summary: Cash bared his teeth and lunged at the handler when attempting to remove him from the kennel. When entering the assessment room Cash has stiff body posture with his hackles raised, tail tucked and whale eyes. Cash would bare his teeth when the handler attempt to come close to him. Due to these behaviors, a SAFER assessment can not be conducted at this time. DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: According to Cash’s previous owner, Cash lived with another dog that he was very attached to. Cash is very nervous as he enters the pen with a low, trembling body. We were not able to safely place a collar on him but the greeter dog was walked past him and Cash lip curled at her. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 10/7/16: Cash was fearful, tail tucked, eyes track, bares teeth, defensive posturing and may snap. ENERGY LEVEL: Cash displays a low activity level in the care center. RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_Place with a New Hope partner: Cash has been timid and avoiding of human interaction since arriving at the care center. We feel he will best be set up to succeed by placing him with a New Hope partner who can move him into stable home environment and provide him with any necessary behavior modification (force-free) before placement into permanent home. According to Cash’s previous owner, Cash lived with another dog that he was very attached to. 10/6: Cash is very nervous as he enters the pen with a low, trembling body. We were not able to safely place a collar on him but the greeter dog was walked past him and Cash lip curled at her. Another attempt will be made tomorrow. 10/7: Cash becomes uncomfortable when a handler attempts to collar him. He is given time to relax in the pen but lunges at the handler when she again attempts to place a collar on him. Due to the handler not being able to safely collar Cash, he was no introduced to a dog today.
