A volunteer writes: Carmine, my Italian stallion!! He’s TINY, a pocket pittie, a gentle and calm little fellow who’s delighted to be out for a walk. Going potty is his first priority and then we’re off to the park, Carmine walking nicely on leash. He’s a well groomed pup, his coat gleams, and his weight is perfect for his diminutive size. He ignores small and medium size dogs we pass, wags his tail at the big ones, and squirrels catch his attention for a moment but we move on without any pulling. Gently posing for some pictures both in the park and in the backyard he shows me his sit, takes a treat gently, and once he knows a treat is coming if he sits, he sits without me asking! Smart little dude! Walking with Carmine is like walking with a celebrity; he’s a head turner and attention grabber and he quietly accepts all compliments. Off leash with other dogs Carmine greets politely and briefly engages in play. Carmine was found as a “stray” and his finder kept him for a few days telling us that he was playful and relaxed with her 4 year old kids, did well with her large pit bull mix, didn’t guard his things, seems to be housetrained, and likes to play chase. Carmine gently gave me some kisses after we got to know one another, and is low key and gentle. Our Italian stallion is looking for a new family or person and is calmly waiting for them to walk in the door. Be sure to meet him when you visit.
SAFER:
Carmine walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. Carmine was calm and relaxed during handling.
