08/12/2014 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper Dog: A1009579 Notes: Titan’s previous owner states he is house/paper trained, has lived with two adults, two children and one teenager and gets along well with children and strangers, but doesn’t do well with other dogs. Titan pulls on the leash and was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, licked hands and face. He was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. He engages in play, loose body, wags tail, mouth is open. He was a bit difficult to push out of the food bowl, but had soft body language. He showed minimal interest in toys and took the rawhide away, but had soft body language. Titan lunged and tried to bite the helper dog during the assessment. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, tail wagging, soft body and mouth closed. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1/2: 2. Dog places his open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail nub down, soft body. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog may smell or lick, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the rawhide. Dog-dog: 4. Dog charges the helper dog while attempting to bite.
