03/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper: 1065265 Carlo came to us as a stray, so we don’t have any behavior information other than what has been observed while in the shelter. Carlo was a bit nervous, but was interested in interacting with the assessor when entering the behavior room. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items without displaying any signs of aggression. He became a bit uncomfortable during the second paw squeeze but did not show any concerning behaviors. He showed no interest in the toy on this portion of the assessment. When on an on-leash dog interaction Carlo did not approach the helper dog, instead he turned his body to the side. The behavior department believes that Carlo can go to an adopter with an average amount of dog experience. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog quickly pulls back his paw, body bit stiff. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog.
