10/03/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/03/16 14:31 Carl is a 4 year old male brown and white american pitbull terrier who arrived as a stray surrender. Upon intake Carl was still and wide eyed for introduction but not stiff. He allowed the kennel rope to be place on him and walked well after this with a loose body and responsive to guidance. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Carl was loose for all handling but articulated some anxiety with whining. Carl was re-assured with soft petting and investigated the environment with sniffing.
10/10/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Older boy Carl just exudes charm! When he’s not deeply napping, he isn’t shy about talking from his cage (he seems housebroken and has gotta go, but also a guy with his personality belongs out and about and at someone’s side.) He wags his tail steadily throughout our walks, even more so when I talk to him. He does a lot of sniffing and is probably making a mental map of this strange new place, but his sniffing isn’t limited to the ground — he also sniffs the treats I offer him (he usually snubs them) and sniffs my face before planting some kisses on it! I like to think every person he meets is marked on his map with a heart. He’ll briefly engage in a game of fetch with me, nuzzle his head under my legs and solicit petting, and has seemed friendly when we’ve met other dogs through a fence. Carl did not love photo time and barked at me before lying down and pouting…surely pointing out that the only way to see how handsome and great he is is in person! Please come meet him at Brooklyn ACC and help him put “home” on his map!
