Hello, my name is Cammy. My animal id is #10201. I am a female white dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 8 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 19-Oct-2017.
Cammy 10201 is at risk for her medical condition, including possible KCS, dental disease, cataracts, luxating patellas, and an ear infection. Please see the veterinary notes for further details and clarification. Behaviorally, Cammy has been timid but tolerant of handling and interaction and is suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 5-10 years based on dental disease and overall appearance Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned POSITIVE today. History : Stray, no health hx available. Subjective: Alert, trembling Observed Behavior – Leans into handler, allows most handling. Evades ocular exam. Objective BAR-H, MMs pink, BCS 4.5/9 EENT: OD mature cataract, mild conjunctival erythema, fluorescein stain negative. OS cornea is very dry and brown, mild crusty/mucoid discharge on the cornea, moderate blepharospasm, mild neovascularization, fluorescein stain negative. AU severe erythema, moderate brown discharge. No nasal discharge. Oral Exam: Severe tartar, gingival recession PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female, small vulva, no discharge. Small nipples, no masses. MSI: Medial patellar luxation – left stifle is grade 3/4 with medial rotation of the tibia, right stifle is grade 2/4. Skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment: 1. OS blepharospasm, corneal dryness – R/O KCS vs. other 2. Cataracts OU 3. Medial patellar luxation with possible secondary disease process such as CrCL tear 4. Otitis externa 5. Dental disease, will likely need several teeth extracted Prognosis: Fair Plan: 1. Schedule CBC/chemistry for tomorrow – schedule for surgery pending bloodwork results 2. Schirmer tear test – perform tomorrow as fluorescein stain was already done today 3. Recommend stifle rads and dental cleaning in the future 4. Cleaned ears today and instilled Osurnia, repeat in 7 days SURGERY: Await CBC/chem results to decide 1088

Cammy was very stiff bodied during intake she allowed me to collar her and take her picture. When I picked her up her body became looser and she was wagging her tail.

Look:: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, ears are back, tail is down, relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Paw squeeze 1:: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Eyes are averted and ears are relaxed or back.
