07/22/16 16:20hrs Caddy appears to be an 8 year old male American Pitbull Mix that was found tied to a gate. He displayed a soft body and wagging tail while inside of his crate during Admissions. He would allow petting on his head and back. He was collared, scanned for a microchip(negtaive) and photographed.
07/26/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: All curled up and sleeping so soundly in his kennel, Caddy didn’t move a muscle when I unlatched his gate. I stroked him gently with my leash in order to wake and not startle him. Caddy gently looked up at me as he awakened, took a second to get his bearings and then stood with the good stretch of a sound sleep. Stepping down gently from his kennel we head outside where he takes care of all his business right away. A slow and gentle walker, he stumbles on the curbs from time to time which makes me believe he may be slightly vision impaired or have a hint of arthritis. Soft and gentle, Caddy doesn’t mind being tethered for photos, gives kisses and lays his head in my lap for petting. Off leash he enjoys more treats, wanders the pen a bit and comes back to my side as I sit to take some notes. When off leash with other dogs, Caddy offers a polite greeting to the female helper dog and corrects another dog appropriately when needed. A sweet and gentle senior, Caddy is looking for his retirement home…a home with a soft bed, gentle loving, good nutritious food, easy walks and more loving. It should be an easy give to this sweet boy whose demands are small. Won’t you come meet him today?

Caddy came into our center on 7/22/2016 after being found tied to a gate. He was friendly and tolerant, allowed all handling during intake. Caddy walked very well on leash for his relief walk, no pulling. He was calm and sociable upon entering SAFER assessment room. Caddy allowed all handling with ease. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, relaxed. He leaned into assessor during Sensitivity item, mouth open, ears and tail neutral. Caddy followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, body soft, settled easily at end. He did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts, sniffed assessor’s hand. Caddy showed minimal interest in Toy, sniffing a few times before turning away. When off leash with other dogs Caddy wandered yard, sniffed greeter dog nicely. Behaviorally, Caddy would do well with an Average adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. 07/24/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
7/24: When off leash with other dogs Caddy offers a very polite, brief greeting to the female greeter dog. He offers correction when another dog jumps on him to solicit. The behavior department feels that due to limited opportunity for interaction and lack of owner history, the behavior team feels that Caddy should be given time to decompress in a new environment as the only resident dog before introducing him to unfamiliar dogs outside the care center.
