09/09/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: None 9/6/17 Unaltered Male, Stray Other notes: SAFER ASSESSMENT: 9/9/17 Look:2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity:1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Summary: Butta pecan was friendly towards the assessor. PLAYGROUP: Butta Pecan was surrender as a stray so her past behavior is unknown. When off leash at the Care Center, Butta Pecan greets a group of small male and female dogs with a soft body. She keeps to herself while exploring the pens. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 9/6/17: Unknown MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 9/6/17: During his medical examination, Butta was very sweet but yelp when vaccines were done. He allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Butta pecan so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
