DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: 10 years; Microchip noted on Intake? negative; History : o/s; Subjective: BARH; Observed Behavior – Nervous but did well for exam. Had some whale eye. Was muzzled for exam. Objective P = wnl R = eupneic BCS 4/9; EENT: Eyes clear with nuclear sclerosis ou, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted; Oral Exam: adult dentition, moderate dental tartar; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: MN; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, limited hip and stifle extension with cachexia-especially around HL and hips, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dry hair coat; CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Assessment:Geriatric; Cachexia; Limited hip and stifle extension r/o arthritis; Nuclear sclerosis ou; Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC; Rec joint supplements once adopted; Prognosis: Good; SURGERY: neutered
Group Behavior::
Bushy’s previous guardian reported that he is relaxed and friendly towards large and small dogs.
9/12: When off leash at the Care Center, Bushy greets the female helper dog with a neutral posture but begins to tense up. He becomes fixated on her genital area and attempts to mount her several times, but does listen to being interrupted by the handlers.
