08/02/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Buddah has shown a concerning level of reactivity toward other dogs on leash–pulling, vocalizing and snapping and when he is within close proximity he repeatedly lunges. Due to safety concerns he is muzzled for this interaction. When Buddah is let into the pen alone he throws his body into the gate and then continuously pushes his muzzle hard into the door and is not able to be distracted. The door is opened and Buddah charges at the helper dog, while snappng, and does cease with handler interruption. Buddah’s leash is taken, and the dogs are separated; he continues to thrash and vocalize until the helper dog is out of sight. His finder reports that he is reactive to dogs on the street, barking and lunging at them during walks. The behavior department advises against placing Buddah into a home with other dogs and recommends muzzle training him so his behaviors can be safely managed and modified without serious safety risk to other dogs on the street.
