03/24/16 10:00 BASIC INFO Browney A1068375 is an approximately 2 year old male Chihuahua Mix. He was a gift to the owner from her Mother 2 months ago. The main reason for surrender is that Browney’s behavior has become unpredictable around 2 toddlers. Browney does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Browney barks at strangers when they come into the home. He does not play with children. He plays gentle with the adult owner as long as its just the owner alone with Browney. He has lived with two 3 year old children and he does not get along with them. Brownie lived with another male Pomeranian and they had to be kept separated because Browney did not like the other dog in the home. Browney has never bitten anyone, but has lunged and barked at people. BEHAVIOR Browney has a few behavior issues that can be easily addressed and corrected with the proper time and training. He is better off in an adult only home as he does not get along well with small children. If an unknown approaches the owner, Browney barks and lunges. He does not allow you to take away his food bowl, water bowl or toy away. He allows you to bathe him and brush him, if he is alone with the owner. If an unfamiliar approaches the owner or the doorway, he barks. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Browney is best described as friendly, affectionate and pushy. He has a high activity level. When home, he follows you around. He plays with any doggy toys. He has been kept mostly indoors. Browney sleeps on a doggy bed. He is fed Purina dry food. He is house trained and wee wee pad trained. There are times that he has accidents in the home. He prefers to go potty outside on dirt. When left alone, he is well behaved. He does not know any commands. For exercise he is walked on a leash. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Browney was owner protective when approached to be scanned by Admissions Counselor, and barked and lunged.
