06/12/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/12/17 17:14 Basic Information: Brooke is a 9 year old large brown brindle dog. She was given to her previous owners as a gift when she was a puppy. She was surrendered because her previous owner is moving to a home that does not allow pets. She has no known injuries or health problems and the last time she went to the vet was 1 year ago. Socialization: Around strangers, Brooke is friendly and outgoing and exuberant but gentle when she plays with adults. She lived with children ages newborn to 2 years, around them she was relaxed and playful and gentle at play. She allows children to sleep on her, pull her ears and sit on her. She’s spent time with small dogs and is relaxed and playful and exuberant at play. Behavior: Brooke has never attempted to bite a person or animal. During storms with thunder she cries and wanted to lay in bed with her previous owners. If her food bowl was touch by anyone, including children, she continued to eat, focused on the food with relaxed body. She is friendly if her treat or toy is taken from her, if she is taken off furniture, held or restrained, disturbed while sleeping or if an unfamiliar person approached her previous owners. She isn’t bothered if her nails are trimmed. She enjoys bath time. If an unfamiliar person approaches her home she barked but was friendly. For a new family to know: Brooke is described as friendly, affection, playful, mellow, and confident with a medium activity level. The two things her previous owners like most about her were she’s fun loving and affectionate. When her previous owners were home she would tend to follow them around. She likes to play with balls, stuffed toys and squeaky toys. Her favorite game is fetch. She was kept indoors and at night she slept anywhere her owner was. She ate dry multigrain Purina. She is house trained and never had accidents indoors. When left alone indoors, Brooke, is well behaved. She has never been crate trained. She knows the cues, sit, come, stay, down, and drop it. For exercise she went on slow walks 3 times a day. In leash she doesn’t pull, off leash she wanders but comes when called. Behavior during Intake: Brooke approached me with a wagging tail and leaned in while pet. She lifted my hand with her head when I stopped petting for me to resume. She took treats and toys gently. She allowed me to pet her, collar her and pick her up to place her in her kennel. She went in with relaxed body and lay down.

A staff member writes:Brooke is such a gorgeous and nice little old lady!!! Precious is only a tiny way to describe how incredibly darling and sweet this beauty is. Despite her age, she is very energetic and eager to leave her kennel to go outside and play. Around everybody she comes across, Brooke displays happiness and kindness toward every one she interacts with. She is a gentle soul, very caring and ready to take on the world. The moment I laid eyes on her, I was mesmerized by her beauty. I also saw how much she wanted to come out with me and from that point on I knew I wanted to spend time with her. When I first took Brooke out for a walk, she was very open and outgoing. She showed interest in walking side by side with me, it was the cutest thing ever. Once we entered the play yard together, she immediately grabbed a hold of the tennis ball. I ran around with her, I played fetch with her and I was able to catch some amazing photos of this beautiful gumdrop. She was such a delight and so easy to handle. She is very well mannered and I personally fell in love with her! She would be a GREAT candidate for a companion. As much as I love seeing pretty, face when I come into BACC, I would LOVE it even more if she were to get a FOREVER home because she deserves that much and then some. COME SEE HER AT BACC TODAY! YOU WON’T REGRET IT!
