04/07/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
4/7/16 13:59 Basic information: Brooke a roughly 13 yr. old Am Pit Bull mix was brought in as owner surrender. The Owner got him from a pet store; he has owned Nemo for over 13 yrs. The owner surrendered Nemo because the owner says he no longer has time care for Brooke. Brooke has no health problems and has never been taken to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Brooke is friendly playful. Brooke has lived with children two ages 5 and 8 years old, he is relaxed and playful around children and adults he does not know. Brooke has never been around other dogs or cats so the owner has no idea how Brooke would behave around them. Brooke has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Brooke is not bothered when some moves his food or treats while he is eating, when someone takes his toys away or when someone disturbs him while sleeping. Brooke likes to be brushed and given bathes but has never had his nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or his home he approaches them in a friendly manor. The owner says that Brooke is not bothered by loud noises such as storms or fireworks. For a new family to know: The owner describes Brooke as friendly and playful with a medium activity level. His favorite activity is to play fetch with his owner. In the home Brooke tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Brooke sleeps in the floor of the living room on a blanket. Brooke was fed Pedigree dry and wet dog food two times a day. He is house trained but does accident in the home especially if not walked, when outside he goes to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. Brooke knows the commands “sit “and “pit it down”. For exercise Brooke is used to brisk walks on the leash and twice a day and does not pull on the leash. Behavior during intake: Brooke was relaxed with lose body. Brooke allowed us to scan (-), collared, photographed and placing in dog kennel.
04/09/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Stately, dignified, handsome, sweet, friendly, housetrained, good on leash, and the best friend you’ll ever find, Brooke is everything a “senior” dog should be. Surrendered to our care by the only family he’s ever known, we’re told that he lived with two young children and was relaxed and playful with them, doesn’t guard his ‘stuff’, likes to be brushed and given baths, likes to play fetch, is housetrained, knows ‘sit’ and ‘put it down’, and sleeps on a blanket on the floor. Brooke is the sweetest old man who may have been a bloodhound in his previous life as he walks nose to the ground sniffing his way. Brooke reminds me of the older relative who brings warmth, ease, unconditional love and friendship to the home. The relative you always want there because he makes you feel good. That’s our Brooke. Brooke has some calluses on his pressure points but in general has been nicely taken care of and he carries his age so very well. Sniffing out treats in my hand he takes them gently, and then goes off to explore our pen. He’s a fabulous senior ready to spend his golden retirement years in the warmth of a new person or family. Easy walks, good food and lots of love should fill his every day moving forward. Brooke will warm your heart as he did mine…..come meet him today.
