07/26/16 18:18 BASIC INFORMATION Brandon is a neutered, Lhasa Apso, cream that is 14 years old. The dog was adopted from ACC when he was 1 year old. The owner is surrendering Brandon due to his health and has no time to care for him. Brando has not been taken to the vet recently. SOCIALIZATION Brando has lived with two adults. When stranger and children come around Brando goes to the bedroom and sleep. He enjoys being on his own and sleeps through most of the day. Brandon has never been around other dogs or cats. BEHAVIOR Brando growls when stranger approach to pet him and sometimes attempt to bite. He does not like loud noises and fast movements. When his scared he tries to bite and growls. He does not like his food bowl touch while eating. He has not received a recent bath. But when he was younger he enjoyed frequent baths. Brando due to his age has trouble holding it when going to the bathroom. But he uses the wee pad and uses the bathroom outside. Brando has no bite history. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Brando is described as mellow, aloof and sometimes affectionate. His favorite activity is sleep. He does not care much for squeaky toys. He loves human food such as ride & chicken. Brando also enjoys Alpo soft dog food. He does not know any commands. Brando sometimes enjoys sleeping on the owner’s bed or his dog bed in the living room. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Brando growled when he was scanned and attempted to bite when collard. He did not allow any handling. But stood still for his photograph.

Brandon previously lived with two adults and has been around children but goes to the bedroom and sleep. The owner stated Brandon growls when stranger approach to pet him and sometimes attempt to bite. The owner mentioned when Brandon is scared he will try to bite and growls. It was reported by the owner Brandon does not like his food bowl touch while eating. According to the owner Brandon is house trained using wee-wee pads. The owner describes Brandon as mellow, aloof and sometimes affectionate. At intake it was reported Brandon growled when being scanned and did not allow any handling. During SAFER Brandon came into the assessment room fearful and tense, he was no interested with the assessor, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Brandon lunged and attempt to bite at the assessor when trying to approach him slowly. He displayed no interest in the toy resource item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Dog-dog: Brandon greets the other dogs but mostly keeps to himself as he wanders in the pen. When a puppy continually greets him, he will offer appropriate correction.
