07/16/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/16/17 18:29 Basic information: Branden is a roughly 7 yr. old Yorkshire mix. The Owner breed her at home. The owner surrendered Branden because Branden barks too much. Branden was last taken to a vet over a year ago. Socialization: Around strangers Branden is very shy and takes a little while to warm up to strangers. Branden has lived with children (mostly teens) he somewhat tolerant but may snap if played too roughly or provoked. Branden does not like other dogs and may bark at them. Branden has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Branden is not bothered when some moves his food or treats while he is eating, when someone takes his toys away or when someone disturbs him while sleeping. Branden likes to be brushed and given bathes and having his nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or his home he barks at them and may growl. The owner says Branden is scared around loud noises such as storms or fireworks and will bark and hide from the noise. For a new family to know: The owner describes Branden as friendly, but shy with a medium activity level. His favorite activity is to walk outside with his owner. In the home Branden tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Branden sleeps in the floor of the bedroom on a dog bed. Branden was fed Pedigree dry dog food twice times a day. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the home, when outside he goes to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. Branden knows the commands “sit “. For exercise Branden is used to brisk walks on the leash and twice a day and does not pull on the leash. Behavior during intake: Branden did not allow all handling or being collared. Branden was tense with stiff body, when approached by staff Branden retreated from the staff member but allowed slow approach. Allowed being placed in a kennel.
02/26/2014 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Branden is understandably scared….what am I doing in this place and where exactly am I? He’s a cute little fellow, stressed and uncomfortable, but nevertheless happy to be out for a walk. After a short while, realizing that I’m a friend, he allows me to pet him as he sits by my side. At 5 years young, he’s ready to find a new home with a welcoming lap in which to cuddle.
