12/04/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/04/16 12:23 Boxie is friendly towards everyone she meets. She’s tolerant towards children as she’s gotten into her old age but used to be very playful with her owner’s 7 year old daughter. She plays gently with all and has never spent time around dogs but did live with two cats that she loved playing with. Boxie has bitten the owner’s 7 year old daughter a few years back but did not break skin. She has never bitten another animal. Due to possible hearing loss, Boxie doesn’t react any differently when loud noises such as storms occur. Boxie isn’t bothered by much, she doesn’t mind getting food, toys, or treats taken away and doesn’t even try to go on furniture. She doesn’t care if you hold her or disturb her while she’s sleeping but does get startled at first. Boxie has been given a bath by her previous owner before he passed so it’s unknown to the owner how she’d react. She isn’t bothered by being brushed but has never had her nails clipped. She’s friendly when new people come into her home and near her owner and enjoys sniffing them out. Her owner describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, and mellow. The owners favorite thing about her is how she’s never quick to bark or growl. Boxie has a low activity level but does enjoy playing fetch with balls and chewing on squeaky and chew toys. When her owner’s home, Boxie follows him around but sleeps on her own bed. She mostly stays inside and likes to sleep on her own bed. She’s very house-trained and rarely has accidents. Boxie doesn’t get outside her property much and usually goes potty on her owner’s driveway. When left alone, she has destroyed household items that lay out such as paper towel rolls but other then that remains a good girl. She has never been crate-trained but knows commands such as sit, down, and stop. For exercise, Boxie enjoys wandering around the yard and driveway off-leash but always comes back inside once called by her owner. On leash she doesn’t pull. Her owner feeds her Pedigree (chicken flavor), 2 cups, three times a day. Her favorite treats are Pepperoni snacks and chew tablets that are good for her joints since her back leg is looking weak when she walks. On intake, Boxie’s tail stayed between her legs for the most part. She stood still for collaring but was breathing heavy. When counselor left to get the camera to take pictures and returned back into the room Boxie was in, her tail started wagging. Boxie didn’t take treats offered.
