08/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Boss Oso came into our center after a member of the public found him as a stray so behaviors in the home are unknown. He was extremely friendly upon intake, greeting everyone and allowed all handling. Boss Oso pulled slightly on leash for his relief walk. He was friendly and calm upon entering SAFER assessment room. Boss Oso allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, relaxed. He stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, mouth closed. Boss Oso followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, body soft, settled easily. He quickly moved his body away during paw Squeeze attempt, so remaining item was conducted using Flank. Boss Oso had no response to both Flank Squeezes. He showed no interest in Toy. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Boss Oso greets the other dog displaying neutral body language and mostly keeps to himself as he wanders in the pen. The Behavior Team feels Boss Oso would do best with an Experienced adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, mouth closed Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, settles easily Squeeze 1: 3. Dog is soft in body and eye, and moves his legs/body so that the Assessor is unable to hold the paw Flank squeeze 1 / 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Boss Oso greets the other dog displaying neutral body language and mostly keeps to himself as he wanders in the pen.
