A volunteer writes: From my own encounter as well as from outstanding volunteers’ comments on his walking log, I can fairly say that Bori is a very pleasant youngster to spend time with. He is calm and collected in his kennel and accepts the leash easily. Bori is a good looking young man, still with a puppy face although his body is all grown up. I love his dotted scarf, bib, mittens and socks that make him look like a Pointer/Pitie mix. He enjoys a great weight and appears healthy except for an issue with his right eye. Bori is a good walker who appreciates his time out, tail wagging happily behind him. He meets other dogs in the street properly, even the little ones, and he does not chase pigeons. He does his business on the way, no marking involved. Bori is a sociable and friendly character. Come and say hello and he will look all happy and wag his tail. Of course, treats will make you even more welcomed and he will sit nicely to get more. Free in a pen, Bori does come when called, settles by my side and likes to be caressed. Approaching from the left makes him more comfortable as he can see what you are doing. Across the board, I loved my time with Bori, a good looking youngster with great manners and I really think that he would make a lovely and loyal companion to the new owner or family who will give him the chance to be their beloved pet. Come and meet Bori at the Manhattan Care Center.

Bori’s foster family writes:
Bori has an ulcerated right eye that makes him appear older than he is. His white speckled paws, contrast with his brown brindle body, making it look like he has on booties, but they do not protect his sensitive, yeasty paws from the elements. Medically, he’s has quite a few needs. Behaviorally, he’s a dream. Because he has limited vision in one eye, Bori is adept at being in tune with his handler – paying attention to tension on the leash and listening to verbal ques. And boy, does he love his treats and his toys! He will take every toy out of the bin and prance around the house with the toy in his mouth. He will fling it around and chase after it, playing fetch by himself. Above all the treats and the toys, Bori loves his person more. He follows me around the house. He will sleep on a bed next to my side of the bed (though if I allowed it, he would sleep on top of me). So, despite his bum eye and yeasty skin, Bori is very much worth the weekly medicated baths.
