Bombino
Hello, my name is Bombino. My animal id is #10508. I am a desexed male brown dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 4 months old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 22-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as animal behaviour – aggressive to other animals.
Bombino is at risk due to behavior. He is extremely uncomfortable with handling and we were unable to complete his assessment due to his stress level. He has a previous bite history with another dog, and came into the care center with bite wounds as well. He would require in home care with antibiotics and monitoring progress of wound.
My medical notes are…
Weight: 55 lbs
Administered 1.5mls of Ampicillin 250mg/ml IV, flushed with 3cc of NACL, as per Dr. 1088.
Details on my behavior are…
Behavior Condition: 4. Orange
Bombino allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable
Recommendations:: No children (under 13),No cats,Single-pet home,Place with a New Hope partner
Recommendations comments:: Owner reports Bombino has no experience with children and has bitten a cat previously. He would benefit from an adult only home as the only resident pet. Bombino must be placed with a New Hope partner who can reassess once he is in a stable environment.
Potential challenges: : Destructive behavior,Kennel presence
Potential challenges comments:: Owner reports Bombino was never crate trained. In kennel, Bombino appears dull and depressed, and trembling when standing up. While we cannot be certain if this behavior will appear in any other contexts, in highly emotionially charged or stressful environments Bombino may show behavior similar to what he is currently demonstrating in his kennel. Owner reports Bombino is well behaved when left home alone as long as he has a toy, otherwise he may chew on household items. It is important to always leave Bombino with high value items such as toys and long lasting treats and chews to decrease the possibility of chewing inappropriate items in the home.
